Have you taken a look at the A Good Day stamp set in the Occasions catalog? I know I overlooked it the first go round. But upon a closer look I knew it would make super “cute” cards. I have 4 to show you over time and I think you are going to love each and every one of them. Plus check out the gorgeous ribbon!
Just a few details and pdf tutorial:
First take a look at the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. It’s a soft crinkled ribbon that is easy to tie and is absolutely gorgeous on projects of all kinds. Here it’s in Peekaboo Peach.
The texture on the base layer was created with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This line of folders creates deep impressions especially if you spritz with a little water. When you use any of the dynamic folders make sure you use just one standard cutting pad on the top of the folder. If you forget how to sandwich this folder you can find a picture in the annual catalog on page 211.
Two new Scalloped Circle Punches were created to coordinate with this stamp set. They can be layered together or mix and matched with our circle punches. On this card I used the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch matted with our 1-1/2″ Circle Punch.
The tiny leaves were colored with the light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend. For such small spaces I like to use the brush side of the marker using the lightest touch possible.
Make sure you order a package of the Delicate White Doilies in your next order. They add that little extra that makes your cards a wow. There 24 in the package for on $3 and you can cut them up and use just a portion like I did here.

Just popping in today with a quick post. I’m sharing one of the cards we’ll be making at Thursday’s Simply Beautiful Card Class. It uses the same stamp set I used yesterdaybut in a totally different way. Yesterday I colored a bit with the Blends and today I created a monochromatic card in Berry Burst.
The stamp set is called Heartfelt Blooms and you can receive it FREE during Sale-A-Bration! That’s right, FREE! With every $50 you purchase you get to choose a Free product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.
So what are your thoughts about the look of this image? Do you like the photographic look? I’m thinking it’s really cool. It’s what Stampin’ Up! is calling a Distinctive stamp. It’s a stamp that lays down ink at different opacities giving the image more depth….so it looks like a photographic finish. What I’m loving is that it looks beautiful stamped in any color and when you stamp it in smoky slate it looks great with added color.
Would you like to receive this card as happy mail? If the answer is yes leave a comment. I’m picking someone from the comments each day to receive the posted card. So stop back often.

Don’t you just smile from ear to ear when you finish making a card and think…Yes! I love it! And when that happens can you part with the card? Be honest! I know it’s not easy but because I’m trying to send more cards this year I’m going to send this card out to some lucky person that comments on my post today. I’m thinking maybe I should start doing that every day. What do you think…does that sound like a fun idea?
This was actually my first play with two amazing products in the Sale-A-Bration catalog and I created it for a tutorial co-op I belong to. You can get the Amazing You stamp set Free with a $50 purchase and the and the coordinating Celebrate You Thinlits Dies Free with a $100 purchase. They work great together or choose your favorite. Just remember if you want them both, when your order hits $150 you also get Stampin’ Rewards! Now that’s a lot of free stuff!!
To see all the FREE Sale-A-Bration items you can choose from, including the newest onesthat were just released yesterday click here. But if you need copies of our catalogs on hand to fuel your creativity click here and I’ll make sure to drop them in the mail to you.
Stamping your own background paper is easy, fun and keeps you from having to search for the perfect coordinating paper. Here I stamped the flower image randomly on the whisper white layer with Smokey Slate ink.
Black and white always looks great with a pop of color and here I used Bermuda Bay…my favorite color. The Stampin’ Blends give you such vibrant color. I like to always start light and add layers of color until I like what I see.
It’s easy to give your flowers dimension. Stamp and color two flowers, cut the center from one and pop it up with dimensionals on the stamped flower. More dimension is added on the card by popping up the die cut ‘you’.
And I almost forgot…check out the shimmer ribbon. It’s one of three ribbons in a pack you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration!
