Stampin’ Up!’s Bloomin’ Love Bundle

The new Blooming’ Heart intricate heart die is to die for!

It’s gorgeous no matter what paper you use.

And when you purchase it with the Bloomin’ Love stamp set as a bundle you have everything you need to make beautiful cards and you save 15%.

REMEMBER – IT’S SALE-A-BRATION

For every $50 you purchase you earn a Free product from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.

If you take a close look at my card today you will notice that I actually used two hearts.  During my card classes I tend to grab scraps when I ‘m demonstrating.  And though the heart we were making in class was pink I must have grabbed a different color blue scrap for two of the classes.  So when I sat down at my desk to create the other day I picked up the two hearts to trash them and thought…wait!  How about if I use them and offset them!  Love the look!  What do you think?

  • First, cut two hearts in coordinating colors from the Blooming’ Heart Thinlets Die.  The colors here are Soft Sky and Tempting Turquoise.
  • Then apply dimensionals to the back of the top heart right behind each of the flowers.
  • Rather then removing all the backs to the dimensionals at once just remove the one behind the larger flower at the top to begin with.  That way you won’t have everything sticking together where you don’t want it to stick!!  Off set the top heart slightly and attach at that one spot.
  • Then remove the backing one at a time behind the flowers so you can have perfect placement of your top heart as you attach it.
  • Stamp the flowers and cut with the small dies and attach to the heart with glue dots.
It was fun to see this beautiful card emerge from what I almost threw in the trash!

I love comments and questions so please leave them HERE.

Hexagon Catalog Case

For my Card Makers Class this  month I decided to case one of the cards in the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog.  If you would like to check out the original it’s on page 105.  I kept it pretty much the same except for some of the colors and I used silver ribbon instead of our glimmer paper.  That’s what I love about our catalogs they are just chock full of ideas!

  • Red is one of my favorite colors so the black, gray and crumb cake just screamed…pop of red to me!
  • The Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set and Hexagon Punch are a bundle so you save 15%.  And for me there’s nothing better then a stamp and punch bundle…I love Punches.
  • Stampin’ Up! Punches are not only quality punches but they are also easy to use and lock flat for storage.
  • Those added splatters are of course made easy with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set.  Everyone owns this stamp set…don’t they?

So the next time you’re stuck for an idea and feeling like you have no mojo…just pull out your Stampin’ Up! catalog and I’m sure you will find some inspiration.  Don’t have a catalog click here to see how you can receive one FREE.

Wild About Flowers Yet Again

A quick post before running out the door today.  It’s the card I made for my general swaps at convention this year.   The first card is what I started with and then decided it needed a a few more layers.

  • Because I’m more of a clean and simple stamper I actually like this card the best.
  • I used the Wild About Flowers set yet again because I’m loving it.
  • The sweet sentiment is from the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set.
  • If you missed my other swap using this stamp set you can view it here.  It’s completely different.

  • So for the actual swap I added a crumb cake layer and the extra Early Espresso partial layer.
  • The splatters were more subtle on the actual swap like in the first card but I forgot to take a picture before swapping and this was actually one that didn’t make the cut because of that.
  • Many asked what color I stamped the flowers…Delightful Dijon just like the card stock and the sentiment on the Very Vanilla.
New WEEKLY DEALS begin today.
The beautiful Venetian Crochet Trim I used on the first card is on sale. And Old Olive Baker’s Twine…you can never have too much baker’s twine!

Watercolor Wings Friend Card

My boys know that there is nothing that can make mom more happy then receiving a butterfly bush to add to the yard.  And that’s because I love butterflies!  Of course that means that I need to have every butterfly stamp in the Stampin’ Up! catalog.

  • If you want the look of water color without all the mess and work Watercolor Wings is a perfect stamp set.  It’s three step stamping made easy with the photopolymer stamps.
  • Coordinating dies make it so easy to cut the butterflies.  The Butterflies Thinlets include the die to cut this butterfly and two beautiful filigree butterflies.
  • The flowers and the splatter for the background are from another new set...Awesomely Artistic.  Because I wanted the flowers to be subtle and take a backseat to the butterfly I stamped off the Bermuda Bay.
  • The center layers are held suspended on the card with no dimensionals by using a piece of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine about double the width of the card, looping it through the left hole on the butterfly layer, around the inside of the card, and attaching on the right side with a bow.

Layer Sizes:

  • Whisper White
    •  4 x 5-1/4
    • 2 x 2-3/4
  • Island Indigo
    • 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Card Base
    • 2-1/2 x 3-1/4
  • Bermuda Bay
    • 3 x 3-3/4
Today is the last day to order from this week’s WEEKLY DEALS!  My favorite and must have are the Happy Patterns Decorative Masks.  Use them to spritz or sponge color to make fun background designs.

Convention Swap/Garden In Bloom

Convention is filled with classes, sharing, make and takes, and friends.  But another fun part of convention is swapping!  You can make as many cards as you would like to swap and this year I created about 120 cards. Whoa…there for a minute I added an extra zero to that number…that would have been crazy!

For one of my organized swaps I created this cute flower card which caused lots of my Georgia friends to ask if I was a Georgia Tech fan. 🙂

  •  Garden in Bloom is a stamp set that will have others wondering if you actually watercolored your card.
  • You can use just the outline stamps or the solid stamps or you can use them together like I did here. This makes for lots of creative combinations.

  • The polka dot paper is from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.  Stampin’ Up! has redesigned the color family stacks with fresh and updated patterns and I’m really liking them.  Forty 12 x 12 papers in each stack!
  • Baker’s twine is something I can’t have enough of.  I love the little extra it adds to a project without a lot of expense.  I like having it in every color.  The color used on this card is the Crushed Curry.

  • After creating this card I realized I needed to stamp 9 times to create each card.  Not a big deal when making one or two cards but 45 cards…that’s a lot of stamping!
  • So I had purchased a Misti a while  back just for swaps and hadn’t used it.  I decided to pull it out and see how helpful it might be.

  • The Misti is a stamp tool that helps you position your stamps.  Much like a Stamp-a-ma-jig but even easier.  I can’t see myself using it for my regular everyday stamping but for swaps it’s great!  And for this card it was so helpful.
  • You can use the Misti with both Stampin’ Up! clear mount and photopolymer stamps.
  • You position your paper on the left side, place the stamps down where you want to stamp on the paper and then close the top.  The stamps adhere to the clear lid (right side) as you can see in the picture.  You then ink your stamps and close the lid. I can see beginner stampers also liking this tool.
Please visit my online store for the supplies to make today’s project.

Have a great day!
Diane

OSAT Blog Hop – Monochromatic

Welcome to this month’s One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Blog Hop!  The theme is Monochromatic Projects. Projects that have tones or shades of one color.  We each chose two colors and a neutral.  My colors are Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, and White.  As I designed my projects I realized that a month ago I didn’t think about the fact that Crisp Cantaloupe would be retiring and that most of the products in that color are gone.  So just remember that you can duplicate both projects with shades of other colors.

Whether you are starting the hop with me or you just enjoyed the wonderful projects on Lori Mueller’s blog make sure you visit everyone in the line up.  You’ll find lots of inspiration.  If you lose your way there’s a list you can refer to at the bottom of the page.

My first project is actually a sneak peek!  It’s a stamp set that’s going to be a favorite in the new catalog called You’ve Got That.  Make sure you put it on your wish list…right now. 🙂

  • I started with a Calypso Coral card base and layered on a piece of the Crisp Cantaloupe Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • Are you as excited about the background stamp as I am?  Love the look!
  • How about that flower!  Gorgeous right!  You can use it as an outline stamp like I did here or you can try your hand at coloring.
  • So glad the Candy Dots will still be with us come new catalog time. They make the perfect finish to a project.

My second project is perfect for a little gift or treat giving.

  • Making a little treat bag couldn’t be any easier when you use the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die.
  • I decided to use the same flower and stamped it in Calypso Coral on the polka dot Designer Series Paper.
  • I’m going to miss the Chevron Ribbon as it’s retiring.  Make sure you stock up in the different colors if you love it too.
  • A couple of banners for your sentiment and  of course don’t forget the Bitty Butterflies.
Thank you for stopping by.  Make sure you join us next month on the 2nd Thursday.
Your next stop on the hop is the talented Darla Roberts.  Make sure you check out what she has to share with you today.
