Thank A Mail Carrier Day!

Today where you live it may be snowy, icy, cold and blowy but I’m pretty sure you can count on your mail carrier to deliver your mail. It really is pretty amazing that mail is delivered under just about all conditions.

When I saw that it was National Thank a Mail Carrier Day I thought how often are mail carriers told thank you?  Have I actual told my gal thank you?  So when I put out my mail today I made sure there was a thank you card just for her.  One with my message of thanks on a post it note so she could use the card to say thank you to someone else in her life.  I hope it brings a smile to her face.

I used the Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set to stamp this beautiful tree.  It is one of three stamps in this set that makes for easy card making.  And I love that!  It looks like you have to work hard to get the silhouette effect but all you really need to do is ink the stamp in your favorite color and stamp it!  Easy peasy!

And the Amazing Thanks Dies in this set are fun because they mimic the silhouette look.  They are script word dies with mats.  I love that they’re rather large and a wonderful way to say “thanks” or “you are amazing”!  You can purchase the dies and stamp set separately but the bundle is always the best deal at 10% off!

Rhinestone Basic Jewels are a staple in my studio. I love how I can color them to coordinate with our Blends. Here I used Misty Moonlight to add a little blue bling!

Here’s a totally different card made with the same bundle.  It was a swap I received from team member Natalie Jonathas from Chicago.  If you look closely you can see that the centers of some of the flowers were punched from the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack.  I love the simplicity of this card and the fact that she used the same colors in the designer series paper.  Tip: When you are struggling with what colors to use on a project pull out some of your favorite paper packs and use the those colors.  You can find the color information either on the back of the paper pack or in the catalog.

Simple Saturday with Wishing You Well

Today I’m featuring the retiring ‘Wishing You Well’ stamp set.  It’s a set I use time and time again.  Change up the color and the sentiment and you can make cards galore!

DistINKtive Stamps – that’s what makes these images so gorgeous.  The images are photo-realistic, crisp, and clear.  They have dimension that is like no other stamps.  Just gorgeous!  Wait…I think I said that already.

I'm so sad to see the Wishing You Well stamp set on the Stampin' Up! 2018-2019 retiring list. I use this set for quick cards all the time! It's gorgeous and so easy to use in the see through photopolymer. Make sure you grab up yours set before it's gone - June 3, 2019

If you are new to stamping try using this set with Stampin’ Up!’s Note Cards & Envelopes in either whisper white or very vanilla.  They are a bit smaller but cut and scored to make things ready and easy.  The middle card in this image was stamped on a note card.  I love to add the bow to the back of the envelope flap.  I’m sure it brings a smile to both the recipient and the postal workers.

I love using the Stamparatus with this set.  What’s that you say?  Sounds like the name of a dinosaur but it’s really Stampin’ Up!’s awesome stamp positioner.  It makes stamping easier for the beginner and it allows me to make lots of cards in a very short amount of time.  I would love to answer any questions you may have about this tool and happy to help you learn to use it.

Wishing you well is a stamp set that gives you photo realistic images. It's Stampin' Up!'s patented Dis

Besides the spray of greenery there is a wreath included in this set.

Fable Friends – Bunny Cards – Fun and Fancy

Today I wanted to share one of my all time favorite Easter and spring stamp sets…Fable Friends.  I’m so excited that this set will be carried over to the new catalog.  First I did a quick fun card for one of my classes and then used a fun technique on another card for my stamp club.

This cute bunny card was done in Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.  Have you purchased this awesome paper yet? If not, you need to get some.  I have to confess I have purchased more then my share because it just makes me smile when I use it.  If you want some…go order it now because it will be retiring, is on back order and I don’t know how long it will last when it comes in!

The Layering Ovals are a staple in my craft studio.  Lots of choices for sizes and they have both straight edged ovals and scalloped ones.  Measurements for this card can be found at the bottom of the page.

The bunny in the Fable Friends stamp set is adorable. Use him for Easter and spring but know that he will be great for baby cards. Check out all the cut images and sentiments in this set that can be used all year round.
Here I used resist heat embossing as our technique for Stamp Club and fancied up the card with the pretty 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  I’m so glad this ribbon is sticking around in the new catalog…It’s just pretty and fun!  If you have heat embossed before then resist embossing will be easy.

  • First I stamped the leaves (from the Rooted in Nature stamp set) in VersaMark ink (a clear slow drying ink) and then sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over the images and used my Heat Tool (on high) to emboss.
  • Next I used Sponge Brayers to sponge Sea Foam Ink over the entire card.  Make sure you start with a light pressure…because you can always add ink but you can never take it away.
  • Then take a paper towel or soft cloth to wipe over the card to remove the ink from the leaves.  This will make them pop and shine!
  • I also used the brayer on a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock so that the leaves I punched with the Leaf Punch looked the same as the background.

Here’s a little closer look at the embossing.

Make sure you check out all the cute images and sentiments because I will be using this set long after Easter for baby cards and just fun thinking of you cards for friends.

I love to hear from you!  Please leave me any questions you may have or comments about today’s project.

Double Front Fold Thank You Card

I love fancy fold cards but I also love simplicity.  So this is a card I created for one of my OnStage swaps using the Just Because Host stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  It’s a double front fold card that’s really quite simple to create.
You will notice that the stamps in this set actually come with the sentiments attached.  To give me more flexibility since I really wanted this to be a thank you card I just cut the rubber stamp making it 2 separate stamps.  Then I used the thank you stamp that comes in the set.  I can always but the stamp back together on a clear block…so don’t fear…give it a try!  And to make it really easy since I was making 20 of these cards I used the Stamparatus to making positioning the stamps easy.

Get Them Before They’re Gone! All the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and Occasions Catalog Host stamp sets will retire as of June 4!  You need to earn these stamp sets with Stampin’  Rewards.  There are two way to earn them.

  • Have a private class or party (either online or in person) and earn them with a qualifying order.  I still have dates open on my calendar through the end of May.
  • Or place a qualifying order of $150 or more.

Stampin' Up! Host Sets can be earned with a qualifying order!

See these stamps sets and details up close and personal HERE.

Now let me show you the inside of the card and why this is called a double front card.

When you open the card you find the sentiment on what appears to be another card but smaller.  Love this cute sentiment.  It’s from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Sets that’s fa collection of wonderful sentiments.

And once you open the second front you have a place to write your own thoughts to the person you are thanking.  Of course if you aren’t one to write long lengthy thoughts you could always stamps some surprise 😉

The Just Because stamp set is a Stampin' Up! Host Set that can be earned with a qualify order! A sweet set with lots of great sentiments. Love this simple vase and flowers

Butterfly Gala Bundle

The Butterfly Gala Bundle in the Occasions Catalog has to be my favorite bundle right now. If you love butterflies and easy when it comes to creating then this is the bundle you want from the new Occasions Catalog.

This card was created as an invitation for a private card class I’ll be teaching next Saturday in Ellijay, Georgia. One of my newest customers is so excited to share Stampin’ Up! with her friends and family that she thought what better way then to host a private class.  It will be a fun girl’s night out where she’ll be able to earn free product with her host rewards.  Did you know that during Sale-a-bration you get an extra $25 in rewards with a qualifying order?  Well now that you do, how would you like to host a fun gathering with your friends?

I wanted just a little bit of glitter so I added some Wink of Stella.  Not a lot…just a little on the tips of the wings and across the middle.  Just enough that you get a hint of shimmer when you move the card.

The checked paper is a Free product that’s available during Sale-a-bration.  It’s the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper and it’s awesome!  Beautiful colors and butterflies on one side and all black and white patterns on the other side.  It’s the black and white that gets me excited! And then the Poppy Parade as a POP of color!  Makes me happy…makes me smile!

With the bundle, some card stock and a package of Rhinestones you will not only be able to make lots of butterfly cards but you will have earned the Botanical Butterfly paper for FREE!  If I can help you with your order please call or text me anytime.
