How much fun is this card? I love sunflowers…how about you? They have a special meaning for me as every time I see one it causes me to stop and remember a special little boy.
If you know me, you know that I love clean and simple cards. It’s my style for two reasons…one, I need for my card making to be quick! If I have to spend too much time it just isn’t fun for me. Are there many of you out there that feel the same? And two, luckily, I love the look!
I’ve been playing with the Eastern Palace Suite for a couple of weeks now and though I love the entire suite I am crazy in love with the dies! So I decided for stamp club this month they would get to make this fun clean and simple sunflower card.
The Eastern Palace die used for the petals is perfect for making sunflowers. I use the Precision Plate and Die Brush for all my intricate dies now. The Precision Plate helps to make deeper cuts so that all the intricate parts of the die are cut through. Then the Die Brush with it’s mat make it so you don’t have to sit and poke all the little pieces out. These are must have tools if you are into intricate dies.
There are a number of wonderful sentiments in the Eastern Palace Stamp Set but I am loving the two curved ones so much!
Embossing folders are a great way to give your cards texture. Here, the center of the sunflower is a 2″ circle that’s been embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I’m sad to say that this folder was on the retiring list and has been sold out since I designed this card for my stamp club. But, with all the embossing folders both new and old I’m sure there’s a folder that would still look great.
The little bee, if you are loving her, is one of the stamps in the Touches of Texture stamp set. You do have to fussy cut her out but it’ s really easy to do if you have a pair of Stampin’ Up!’s Paper Snips. They are so sharp and easy to use.
The Eastern Palace Suite is in the new annual catalog that will go live on June 1 but, you can get it now as an early release. For details on each of the bundles, what Free Gifts you get with each, and how to order click Here.

I love when I can buy a Christmas stamp set and use some of the stamps all year long. This special delivery baby card was created using the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and punch bundle.
The cute paper with the bows…not baby paper. It’s one of the designs in the Presents & Pinecones Christmas paper. And…it’s part of the Designer Series Paper Promotion. Buy three packs and get one free. Ends October 31.
The Mint Macaron stamped bear is adorable and so easy to stamp. You can see through the photopolymer stamp set for perfect placement. Hint: When you stamp the ears…stand up! It gives you the perfect angle to stamp them close to his head.
Banners are a snap when you use the Triple Banner Punch.
Add a little Rhinestone to the bow and you’re ready to say welcome to the new baby.
By the way did I tell you I’m finally going to be a Nana…in February!

Today I’m sharing the swap card I designed for my team gathering. The theme in October was fall and I decided to take a look at the Paisley & Posies Suite in the Holiday catalog.
Let’s start with the paper…Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper. I choose the rich Cajun Craze leaf printed paper in the pack. This is a gorgeous pack of paper with beautiful colors and patterns and a little copper foil.
The sentiment is from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set. And the leaf was cut using the coordinating Paisley Framelits Dies. Save 10% when you purchase them as a product bundle.
The intricate dies can be a challenge to glue in place without getting glue all over your card so I tried something new that worked really well. I placed Tear & Tape Adhesive in strips on the back of the foil before I cut with the die. After running through the Big Shot I used the Die Brush and then used the Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the backing from what tape was left on the back of the die cut. Now you have a die cut with sticky on the back that’s easy to adhere to your project.
One of the larger pearls in the Pearl Basic Jewels pack is a perfect accent on the bottom of the leaf.
I’m joining forces with fellow demonstrators to turn the internet pink with creativity this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Early detection of breast cancer, like any other cancer, is the key in saving more lives. So I encourage everyone to make sure your mammograms are up to date and you’re doing self checks.
My card today is a birthday card I made for my great niece. She’s sweet, adorable and loves to make cards when we are together. She lives in Florida so we don’t get to see each often but when we do, we do ‘carding’ all day!
She loves the Butterfly Punches so it’s the first thing I pulled off the shelf.
Next I went to our Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper and when I saw the gold flecked paper I decided a pop of Gold Foil would be perfect!
The perfect bling for this card is the Metallic Enamel Shapes. Just a single dot on the butterfly. You get both silver and gold in each package.
The sentiment is from the stamp set Endless Birthday Wishes. And endless it is…lots of words that can be combined in endless combinations.
She’ going to “LOVE IT”!
So here we are ‘carding’ the last time she visited. She wants to use every tool and runs the Big Shot like a pro! Look…we both have pink on…perfect for today’s post!
The Breast Cancer 2-Day walk is coming up soon in Atlanta. I have a few friends that are walking in the walks this year and wanted to say how awesome I think it is. I will be praying and sending thoughts of encouragement!
I did the walk in 2000 when it was a 3-Day Walk and it was such an amazing experience. I was about a year out of treatment with Non-Hodgkins cancer and felt the need to do the walk for so many reasons. I will never forget it!
Here I am with my dear friend and two outrageously dressed volunteers who cheered us on. I would encourage everyone to do the walk at least once. But if you think you could never walk that far consider being a cheerleader. They were so very important as they lifted our spirits at every stop and cheered us on to the end.
So remember to have your check ups and remind your loved ones.

The Sunshine Wishes Thinlit Dies are a favorite of mine. I love what I call the “scribble” dies in that set. Isn’t it the cutest little “scribble” butterfly ever!!
