Happily Married! – With a Fun and Beautiful DIY Wedding

They’re married and life is back to normal, well as normal as it gets around here.  So I thought my first back to blogging post should be about the happy event.  My son Matt and my new daughter, Laura were married on September 12th in Roswell Ga at the Roswell River Landing.  We were concerned about the weather forecast but as you can see the day was absolutely beautiful…in so many ways.

Laura decided on her colors and had a sweet friend hand paint her invitations.  They then took the original and had them printed.  She was so excited when she brought them for me to see.  And then when she went up to the stamp room I could hear her squealing about how I had so many Stampin’ Up! colors that would go with her wedding colors!  There was Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, and Calypso Coral.  She liked the idea that we could mix the colors because that’s the way she decided to go with the bridesmaid dresses.  She didn’t want them to be the same color just in the same color family.

The flowers were done by a Rittenhouse Designs.  She originally was going to do them all herself but as the wedding got closer she decided it would be less stressful to have them done.  Are they not absolutely gorgeous!

Married and looking so happy!

Here’s a closeup of the bridal bouquet.

Two beautiful little flower girls!  The little one is my great niece.  She was so excited to dress up and look like a princess…until it was time to leave her mother and walk down the aisle.  I distracted her so her mom could go sit down and then we practiced tossing flowers from the baskets.  Of course a controlled tossing…throw one, pick it up, throw one, pick it up…

Here Come’s the Bride!  Aren’t these two brothers just adorable?  One of the many chalk boards used at the wedding.

Here’s another calk board so everyone could post the pictures they were taking in one place.  Love Instagram!

Laura and Matt decided to give mason jar mugs to each of the guests.  I was asked to add tags to them with names and table numbers.

The base layer is Crumb Cake card stock that was stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp.  The printed tags  were done in My Digital Studio and cut with the Ovals Framelits and Circle Punch.

The guest book was done by Laura’s sister.  It had pictures of the happy couple and all their travels before they were married.  Plus a cute chalk board to make sure everyone remembered to sign it.

Laura’s mother and aunt did all the decorating of the tables.  Part of the seating was inside the venue and then there was a tent outside on the deck.  It was a gorgeous setting right along the river.

I made 20 flags to number the tables.  We decided to keep them neutral  so the flowers would be the main event.  I used the Banner Framelits, the Hardwood Background Stamp and Circle Punches.  And those beautiful wood rounds were done by my sweet husband.   I am lucky enough to have a stamping friend who’s husband is a logger.  They were sweet enough to get all the wood rounds we needed.

I love the way Laura’s aunt fixed the napkins.  And at the end of the napkin snail she included a Hershey Nugget treat holder.  I made 172 of them with the help of Laura, Laura’s mom, sister, cousin, and maid of honor.

Here’s another look at the treat holders!

Another picture of the happy couple as they entered the reception as Mr and Mrs Squires!

The wedding pictures were taken by Cristina Guerrero Photography and we highly recommend them for any event.  Not only were the pictures wonderful but Matt and Laura thought they were easy and fun to work with.

The Cake!  It was made and decorated by Laura’s mother, Carolina.  It was absolutely gorgeous!  Every flower was handmade in gum paste.  I loved that she spent some time teaching me how to make a flower.  I didn’t think my flower would be worthy of the cake but there it is…the small dark coral at the bottom of the cake.  And yes, Jeff also finished the large wood round for the cake.  It was given to Carolina so she can use it for future cakes.

The exit…well actually it was a fake exit because the bride and groom stayed for the entire party.  And boy did everyone party!  At eleven o’clock when you would think things would start winding down…well that’s when the mardi gras beads, whistles, and masks came out and the real party began!

Rehearsal Dinner Favors filled with Hugs & Kisses

Stayed with the same color theme and Hardwood Stamp.   The sentiment was done in My Digital Studio.

Tomorrow is going to be the Best Day Ever! napkin tags.

Again the greeting was done in My Digital Studio.  I used one of my favorite framelits to cut the base…the Window Frames Collection.

The banner was made with the Celebration Banner Kit in the Annual Catalog.  Quick and easy to put together.  I cut the letters on my Silhouette Cameo and added the framelit heart and some ribbon.

Laura was so excited when she saw the Cheers to Love Stamp Set so I used it for both the rehearsal invitations and the welcome bags.

We are so happy to welcome Laura into our family.  I love the both of them to the moon and back!

Please feel free to share and leave me a comment.

New Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals and More!

Happy April Fool’s Day!  I’m waiting and hoping that I don’t get caught in an April’s Fool joke this year by the men in my life.  They seem to catch me every year no matter how ready I am for them. 🙂  One year my youngest son put a rubber band around the sink sprayer and when I turned the water on I got drenched.  Sad thing is…he caught me the same way the following year!

So if you have pranksters in the house…be careful because this is their favorite day of the year!  At least for mine it is.

New Weekly Deals begin today…and that’s not an April Fool’s joke.

It’s hard to pick a favorite this week!  However, the Fun Flowers Die and the Fancy Flower Punch would be perfect for your spring and summer paper crafting.  Remember that each of these products are 25% off through this week only.  And that you earn Loyalty Rewards for every $25 you purchase (before shipping and tax).
