I have another cute Christmas box to share with you today! Leishman Williams, one of my very first hobby demonstrators, and today’s guest stamper, created this very cute polka dot box. She started out with one of the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes and decided to cover it with circles. When I asked here where she got the idea of the circles she pulled out her camera and showed me a picture of her quilted Christmas table runner filled with red and green circles on a white background.
I’m often asked how do you come up with ideas for your projects? Of course there are many ways but Leishman is showing us today one of my favorite ways. Look at the things around you…color and design. You will find ideas in home decor, fashion, fabric, nature. Be observant and when you see something that strikes your fancy pull out you phone camera and snap a picture.
This is a view of the box where you can see the die cut ‘Merry’ on the top of the box. You will also notice that she continued the polka dots all around the box using smaller circles on the sides. I love polka dots and this box just makes me smile!
And lastly a close up of the cute tag. The Christmas tree stamp is from the Pennant Parade stamp set and can be easily punched out with the coordinating Petite Pennants Builder Punch. Leishman has started a blog where she is sharing some of her projects as she has time. You can visit her blog here. I you would like to learn how you can be a part of our group and receive at least a 20% discount on your products click here.
I was so excited when I saw this box that I knew I needed to case (copy and share everything) it. Of course I decided to change the occasion, the color and tag but it’s basically the same box. By the way…this is also another great way to find ideas for your projects. Copy them exactly or find a project you like and change it up.
This is just a sneak peak of my box. It will be the project in my newsletter this week with all the directions included. Want to see it or maybe even make it…then make sure you are signed up for my newsletter by Wednesday! My newsletter includes exclusive projects, usually weekly, with directions plus, it will keep you updated on classes, promotions, sales and anything else that is going on including contests.
Did you sign up for my newsletter? 🙂 The box is at the top on the right. All I need is your name and email address.

Have a happy and productive Monday!
Feeling under the weather the past two days. Went to the doc today and with some meds…feeling much better! I hear it’s going around so make sure you get plenty of rest , eat right, and stay away from sick people. 🙂 Now I need to follow my own advice!
Now back to where I left off in my last post. I was sharing the packaging from a demonstrator ornament exchange I was part of last Saturday. I first opened the snowman box from this post but it was stolen from me. So to make it more fun I decided to steal this box and ornament.:)
Sue stamped and die cut the snowflake using the Festive Flurry Bundle and added a Glimmer Brad.
This is the beautiful wreath ornament that was in the box. I’m sure I will find the perfect spot on my Christmas tree.
Love the bow! It’s made with the Gift Bow Die form the Holiday Catalog. The bottom two layers are embossed and the top is made by simply cutting the bow. The box looks like it was made using the Card Base Pop’ N Cuts. I realize now I should have taken a closer look at the box.
Add some Washi Tape, a Cherry Cobbler bow and a few Merrys to the Ex-large Gift Box. Quick and easy
Lisa decorated her box with a Tea Lace Paper Doily and the Love & Joy Stamp. It’s one of my favorites.
One of the Chevron Bags with and added ribbon and tag. Another quick and easy solution for small gifts.
Fran came up with this fun candy cane striped box. You pull on the tag and box slides out like a drawer. Very clever and cute. She used the Tag It Stamp Set. (available in both Clear or Wood)
I hope this post and my last two give you some ideas when you go to wrap your Christmas gifts this year!

Happy Friday! Hope you have lots of fun things planned for the weekend. If you are local I would love to invite you to First Baptist Ellijay’s Christmas Program with the Celebration Choir and Orchestra. I play in the orchestra. If you do come by please say hi. I will be playing one of the keyboards.
Had an awesome time at a demonstrator meeting on Saturday night. It’s the PAWS group that I attend. It stands for Play Alot With Stamps and that’s exactly what we do.
Instead of swapping this month we decided to have an ornament exchange. The kind where you get to steal which I love. The funny thing was I think we were all stealing each other’s wrapped ornaments totally for the boxes and bags they were wrapped in.
I took a pic of the ornament I was giving and thought I took a picture of it wrapped. So that night I took a pic of everyone’s except mine. Then found out…NO pic of mine. So today I will start by showing you a couple of the others and hopefully will get a pic of mine from one of the other girls so I can share it.
Leishman decorated her gift bag with those cute little elf legs and shoes. They are made with the Top Note Die. Don’t you just love the bow? Really easy with the Gift Bow Die from the Holiday Catalog. Hopefully that will be a die that will be continued after the holidays but you never know. So if you are wanting it…maybe a Christmas present to yourself!
Cindy used Stampin’ Up!’s Extra-Large Gift Box to wrap her ornament. She stamped the box using The Festive Flurry Stamp Set (Wood or Clear Mount) and then added that beautiful bow with the Gift Bow Die. The Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon and the Season of Style Washi Tape were added to the box so that she could put a velcro closure on the box making it easy to open so that the box can be used again and again. Love that idea!
I have to say that Becky’s box was my favorite. 🙂 She took a box she purchased at Kroger’s and decorated it with this cute punch art snowman. The face and hat were cut with the Top Note Die. You will also notice that the Gift Bow Die was used again. I’m telling you…if you don’t have that die yet…you need it! 🙂 Leave a little note (hint) with my phone number for your husband and maybe you’ll find it under the Christmas tree. 🙂
The Top Note and Gift Bow Die both are used with the Big Shot. And the Big Shot would make a wonderful Christmas Gift for any paper crafter in your life. Add a few dies or a gift certificate so they can pick the dies they want after Christmas and make it the best Christmas ever!
Have to run…busy afternoon! Stop back tomorrow to see more gift wrap ideas.
Those stampers that came to my Christmas Gift Tag class made this tag and easily decorated a gift bag by adding a little Designer Series Paper and a pretty bow.
- The tag was stamped with images from the Warmth & Wonder Hostess Set.
- Tip for making the tag. Cut the base layer the size you want the tag. Cut the stamped layer 1/4″ smaller. Cut the right top corner off the top on the white layer at the angle you desire. Now carefully flip the little piece you cut off and lay it on the other corner to use as a pattern to cut the other side. Now they match! Glue the two layers together and then cut the angles on the base layer using the top layer as a guide.
- Washi Tape makes decorating a tag simple and easy
- Add a strip of Designer Series Paper either across the top or down the left side of your gift bag and add a pretty bow. The Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon makes a beautiful bow any time of the year.
This was one of my favorite tags we made even though it’s super simple to make. I love the No Peeking Stamp from the Photopolymer Christmas Tagables Stamp Set. I smile every time I read the None, Zero, Zilch. I used a glue pen and added a little Dazzling Diamonds to the ‘NO’ which in person makes the tag really sparkle. The framelits used to cut the mat layers are two sizes from the Window Frames Collection.
