Welcome to the October Inspire, Create, and Share Blog Hop. Actually, where I come from in the North Georgia Mountains,  we would just say…Happy Fall Y’all!  Can you guess…this month we’ll be sharing fall projects. Whether you’re starting the hop with me or you just came from Terri Takashige’s fun blog we hope you’ll have fun and be inspired to make some of your own fall projects.

One of the things I love about fall is sunflowers. Actually I love sunflowers all year long.  So I just had to share a fun sunflower card with you today.

  • I realized that the Festive Flower Punch in the Holiday Catalog that makes a fun Poinsettia would also make a gorgeous sunflower…that made me smile!
  • Twenty of the large petals were punched with Hello Honey card stock and sponged in the same color.  And then 2 in Old Olive.
  • Two 2-1/2″ circles were punched in Early Espresso.  One was used as the base to build the card and the other for the center of the flower.
    • I decided to cover the base with Snail Adhesive though you could easily use Tomboy Multipurpose Glue.
    • Ten of the petals were placed around the outside of the base with the more rounded side facing out.  If you place two petals on opposite sides of the circle it’s easier to get the spacing right.
    • Add a bit more glue to the tips of the petals and then glue the second round of 10.  Space them slightly more toward the center and in-between.
  • The second circle for the center was embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder  and sponged with Early Espresso ink.

  • Once the flower was made I knew it had to be the star!  So I decided to place it in the center of a 5″ x 5″ card.
  • The base is Early Espresso and the layer is Crumb Cake stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Early Espresso Ink stamped off to make it lighter.
  • The Hello was die cut using the Hello You Thinlits in Old Olive.

I loved how this card turned out.  I’m thinking it should go to a special friend who loves sunflowers too! 🙂  What is your favorite fall flower?  Leave me a comment!

Thank you for stopping by today. Your next stop on the hop is the talented Tina Johnson.  I hope you find the hop fun and inspiring so you can head to your craft area and create, inspire and share with your friends and family.  See you next month.

Hugs,
Diane
